Shape our society

Artists not only document social change; they promote, inform, and shape it (Martinez, 2007). Using art to shape our society is no longer a new idea, Beuys' social sculpture is also about the same concept. Due to the limitation of an art installation, it could not be easily put at an public place, therefore it could not be accessed by many people. In order to use the maximum power of an art work, I guess the easiest way is to let more people see the work. The idea of an Noise Installation would not be easily accessed by public, due to the equipments and setup requirement. But as a part of my experiments, it did successfully give me ideas and direction about what I was searching for. I do believe that art is not only a part of our society, it reflects, shapes our society.
