PLAY-DOH STOP MOTION ANIMATION......

Today, I have tried making a stop motion animation, but it was not as easy as I thought.

I need a studio to take the pictures, but as I am living in a small apartment, and I don't have any professional equipments, I used what I have to set up a "studio". A compact digital camera, a cheap tripod bought off Trademe, a white A4 paper as background. I found the tripod is a must-have tool for the stop motion, because it can hold the camera at the same position for you. As I don't have any professional flashes, I need to turn on the camera's built-in flash for every shoot, even in daytime, otherwise the pictures are too dark.

For the first try, I took 51 pictures, but after editing, it was a only 10 seconds long video. iMovie was quite easy to use, even it was first time to use iMovie to edit video. As the first try, I am very pleased.

  1. Great to see you try these things out - dont forget that you can use the studio anytime - even over the break. james
