We started working with Processing about motion detecting, there are several ways of motion detecting. But there are disadvantages about them. The brightness tracking and colour tracking both depend on the lighting, and only track one point of the video frame. The background differences can only give the amount of the differences, and does not match our idea. At last, we chose Frame Difference as our way of motion detecting. Through researches we found the best way of frame difference was to detect the amount of movement in the video frame, then made the differences to a particular colour, use the colour as the condition of the movement of our pet. The problem is, it's not nice to see some parts of the video become black as people moves, but this is the best way we could find so far.
