On Friday, we built the initial model of our drawing machine. It is a voice controlled robot with a pen controller. The idea is we can control the robot with our voice to drawing something, but not something mean-less.
This is our initial model of the drawing machine with it's very first drawing on the board.
Take a close look at the drawing.
The robot was running very good, but we still got some problems. Firstly, the environment. As it was quite noisy in the studio, it was hard for the robot to pick up the right voice from us, so we took it to the hall outside the studio, then the robot worked better. Secondly, the position of the microphone. In order to make the robot looks simple and tidy, we placed the microphone beside the brain, in that way, every time the motor ran, the robot picked up the noise of that as a voice command. So we built a long leg on top of the robot to put the microphone, which made the robot worked better.
For the program part, there was not any difficulty part, but we spent a lot of time to test the robot, to adjust the program.
So far, we are on schedule to make everything done nicely before the deadline.
