Location Awareness

There are many ways to determine users's location via varies of technologies, GPS system will be the most common one. Comparing the coordinates from at least three satellites to calculate the location of the user on the Earth. For most of the location detecting technologies, we have to set the boundary or have known location references before we can calculate any locations.

My project idea is to use camera or range detectors to track user's location in a certain area, and use visual elements to let user to interact with. Multiple cameras could be used to improve the accuracy, or to detect the location from 3 dimensions. 3D projection mapping could be used for the visual. The final outcome was expected to be a video installation.
