Response to the Complimentary Box

After made and took the box to the public places, I found that people who were given compliment did not all give response to the compliment. Some of them just walked pass, maybe they did not hear the sound. Some of them looked at the box, then walked away. Only a few showed interest in the box. So I questioned myself, what kind response I was expecting from the audience? Surprise? smile? I guess because it was a box which was giving out compliments, not a person, audience could not really smile and say thanks to the box. The project was designed to give people compliment, and the compliment is related to people's emotion. But the box could only give out the complimentary phrases, not emotion. Once it lacks emotion, it has lost a part of power of compliment. There are still advantages for the box and computer voice. It could give the audience surprise and curiousness, both of them could attract people's attention. The result of the project is still could not bee easily seen. Will the audience pass on the effect of the compliment? Will the society be affected by the compliment? I guess the compliment did make effect to the society, even how small it is.
