Mirrors and Mirrors
The first thing I can say about the mirror is symmetry, that's because it is the very basic physical theory of what a single mirror could do. But when two or more mirrors are put together, more possibilities could be achieved. For example, facing two mirrors towards each other could get infinity mirror effect. This made me to think about what kind interesting image I could get by placing mirrors to different angles. In order to add a bit playfulness to the installation, I chose kaleidoscope image, as it was one of the most beautiful memory of our childhood. What I have done is to produce the kaleidoscope image which made of the live feed image of the viewers. Viewer's body movement is captured by the camera to turning the mirrors' angle in order to change the kaleidoscope image. If the artwork Be Tender invites viewers to interact with the colorful kaleidoscope, here, I am trying to get viewers more involved in the screen, as the kaleidoscope is made by the viewers' image, therefore, the viewers not only interact withe the kaleidoscope, but also create the kaleidoscope.
